We are a rescue and sanctuary located in the South Central Texas area. We take any chinchilla regardless of color, challenges, characteristics and demeanor.
Important News!
Winter is here! We've received exciting news from our good friend Jamie Glaser that our rescue/sanctuary is going to benefit from his Christmas Album this year! We cannot thank him enough for the kindness, friendship and generosity he has demonstrated to us and the chins here.This year we have been overwhelmed with surrender requests, and have been referring people to other rescues, in Texas and other states. We have one place reserved for a chin in need of sanctuary, otherwise we are full. We will continue to try to help find safe places for homeless chins to go, though due to the economy this can take some time. If you find yourself in this situation, please let us know. We can arrange to have basic care packages sent to you with food, hay, rose hips, toys, dust and shavings to make sure your chin is cared for until he or she can be placed into a rescue or sanctuary. These packages must be used for your chinchilla, and cannot be resold. We've organized railroads to get chins to safety, and we have helped many people from around the world with their chins.
We have also seen 3 chins adopted this year, to amazing homes! Congrats to Sebastian, Ziggy and Poodah for finding their forever homes. We're confident they will be well loved and cared for the rest of their lives.

If you have a chinchilla that needs to be rehomed, we will do our best to work with you to get your chin to a rescue that is able to take her/him. We are in regular contact with several reputable rescues throughout the Midwest. You can contact us at finallyhome@wunderchins.com.
If you would like to be a foster home, and if you are in the south central Texas region, please contact us for more information. You will need to fill out the adoption application and have a home visit, but there is no fee to apply.

The only ones there could be any question about are Sage's, Felix', and Ella's. Those particular stories are in question because the people that sent them to us are now claiming that the stories they told us via email were lies. We, of course, trust the other rescues that selected the chins that came to us, and trust what they've told us about those chins. We also trust the people who've surrendered the chins to be honest about the basic facts. Our vets are, of course, able to tell us about prior bodily injuries via physical checks and x-rays.
The total amount we receive in donations and sponsorships combined cover less than 1% of our expenses. We appreciate every amount donated.
